Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics All-Star pointguard, announced that his season with them will end after he sustained a torn ACL in his right knee.
Rajon Rondo was injured in the knee last Friday during their 123-111 loss against the Atlanta Hawks. However, the severity of his injury was confirmed later that day against the Miami Heat. They won 100-98.
Rondo, an All-Star point guard, will have surgery to repair the ACL tear. It usually takes one year to recover from this injury. Initial reports stated that Rondo had a hyperextended right knee. However, tests revealed the ACL tear.
Rondo will seek second opinions to determine the best path to his recovery. Rondo, a four-time All Star, was also selected as the Eastern Conference’s starting point guard.
